FAQs
🗺️ How does the scavenger hunt work?
After your purchase, you will instantly receive a PDF file to download and print.
Inside, you'll find everything you need to prepare your adventure – from the instructions to the certificate.

What's included:

  • A detailed step-by-step instruction guide for parents
  • Invitation cards for the kids
  • Station cards & riddles matching the theme
  • Certificates for every child
  • Bonus ideas & optional extra challenges
  • Creative decoration and costume tips

The children follow an exciting story, solve riddles, play small activity games, and move step by step closer to the big goal – whether it's finding a treasure, solving a mystery or uncovering a secret.
Everything is self-explanatory and flexible: You can play the scavenger hunts indoors or outdoors, depending on weather and space.

⏰ How much time do I need to prepare?
Plan about 30–45 minutes to print the materials, cut them out and set up the stations.
If you want to decorate or prepare a treasure chest, it may take a little longer – but everything is ready to play even without extra effort.
👧👦 What age group are the scavenger hunts suitable for?
Our scavenger hunts are designed to be ideal for children aged 4 to 12.
Each scavenger hunt includes different difficulty levels or variations, allowing you to adjust them perfectly to the age and group – whether preschoolers, primary school kids or little puzzle experts.

💡 Tip: If you have mixed-age groups, you can easily combine the different riddle variations.
Since your purchase includes all age levels, you can mix tasks so younger kids have fun and older children still feel challenged. That way, the adventure stays exciting for everyone!

🏠🌳 Can the scavenger hunt be played indoors or outdoors?
Yes! All of our adventures are designed to be played flexibly
in the living room, garden, playground, park or even the forest.
The instructions include tips on how to adapt the stations to your environment so the game works anywhere.
🧩 What materials do I need?
You only need a few things that you usually already have at home:

  • Printer & scissors
  • Pens, glue, tape
  • Envelopes or small hiding spots
  • Optional craft supplies (e.g. string, balloons or coins – depending on the theme)
  • A treasure or small goodies for the final reward

A detailed material list is included in every scavenger hunt – clear and easy to follow.
Everything can be created using simple household materials, without much effort.

🕒 How long does the scavenger hunt last?
Depending on the route, age of the children and group size, a scavenger hunt usually lasts 60 to 120 minutes.
If you include the optional extra tasks or craft stations, you can extend the adventure as long as you like.
🏆 What is the goal of the scavenger hunt?
At the end, there is usually a hidden treasure, certificate or reward that you can personalize –
such as a treasure box filled with sweets, small prizes or handmade medals.
But the most important part is: team spirit, fun and movement!
🎈 For which occasions is the scavenger hunt suitable?
Our scavenger hunts are perfect for:

  • Birthday parties
  • Family celebrations
  • School or kindergarten events
  • Holiday activities
  • Theme parties (e.g. detectives, knights, space, enchanted forest, etc.)

They can be used spontaneously or as a well-planned party activity – whatever you prefer.

🔊 How do the audio files work?
1. What format are they in and how can I play them?
The audio files come in standard .mp3 format. You can play them with any normal music player on a phone or tablet – no extra app or special software needed. Just download and press play.

2. What is the best way to play them during the scavenger hunt?
The easiest option is to download the files before the hunt starts, so you don't rely on mobile internet outdoors.
For larger groups or outdoor play, a small Bluetooth speaker helps all children hear the story clearly. The files are numbered, so you can play them in the correct order – matching each station.

3. Are they just simple read-aloud audios?
No 🙂 The audio files are designed to be narrative and lively, so the kids feel like they are inside the story. The messages are not just read aloud – they sound like small audio-drama moments at each station. This boosts attention and keeps everyone deeply engaged.

💡 One more tip:
If you want to create an extra magical atmosphere, use small theme-matching decoration ideas (e.g. magnifying glasses and footprints for detective hunts, stars and planets for astronauts, magic wands for little wizards, etc.).
This creates real adventure vibes and makes the kids proud of their mission!

Got this for my daughter’s 5th and it kept the whole party busy. We kitted everyone out with cardboard rockets and off they went through the garden as astronauts. All 5 children were captivated for the best part of an hour. What really stood out was the space facts tucked into the clues. Easily the best party activity we’ve done — worth every penny.

  2. George Healy (verified owner)

My little boy is absolutely space-mad, so this was the obvious choice for turning 6. The children became astronauts, hunting down each clue through the garden with cardboard rockets. All 5 children were captivated for well over an hour. The whole thing was beautifully presented and easy to print at home. “Best party ever,” according to my little boy — high praise indeed.

  3. Carl Morales (verified owner)

Ran this for the kids during the school holidays. We kitted everyone out with tin-foil helmets and off they went round the house as astronauts. All 5 children were captivated for well over an hour. The whole thing was beautifully presented and easy to print at home. A grown-up reading the clues helped the little ones along nicely. We’ll definitely be back for another theme.

Bought this for my 6-year-old’s space-themed party and it was a huge hit. Seven kids on a ‘mission to Mars’ round the house, cardboard rockets and all. The space facts woven into the clues are a nice touch and even the grown-ups learned something. Around 55 minutes of focused fun. Instant download meant I had it printed the same evening I ordered. Couldn’t fault it.

  5. Gina Doherty (verified owner)

My little girl is absolutely space-mad, so this was the obvious choice for turning 5. The kids tore round the back yard as astronauts, following the trail from one clue to the next. All 6 children were captivated for a happy 45 minutes. Four stars as I’d have loved a final twist at the end, though honestly the children were delighted as it was. We’ll definitely be back for another theme.

Perfect for my daughter’s space-themed 6th — exactly what I’d hoped for. The kids tore round the house as astronauts, following the trail from one clue to the next. We had 5 kids in total and it kept them busy for well over an hour. The mission-to-Mars storyline was a real highlight.

My son is all about space right now and this was exactly what I needed for his birthday. Quick to print, easy to set up, and the kids were SO excited. The space theme clues were creative and fun. Highly recommend for any little astronaut!

Perfect for my little girl’s space-themed 5th — exactly what I’d hoped for. We kitted everyone out with cardboard rockets and off they went round the house as astronauts. 4 of them followed the trail for around 50 minutes. We’ll definitely be back for another theme.

The Astronaut Treasure Hunt was a great choice for my son’s space-themed birthday. The kids loved the mission briefing at the start. Some of the clues were on the trickier side for younger children (we had 5-year-olds), but the 7–9 year olds absolutely nailed it.

  10. Toby Connolly (verified owner)

Pulled this out for a playdate and it more than did the job. They were astronauts for the afternoon, racing around the house solving clue after clue with cardboard rockets. 6 children took part and they were absorbed for a happy 45 minutes. Brilliant value, and I can see us reusing the idea again. My son is still talking about it weeks later.

  11. Nora Bergmann (verified owner)

Got this for my son’s 6th and it kept the whole party busy. Armed with cardboard rockets, the astronauts worked their way around the house to the final reward. 5 children took part and they were absorbed for well over an hour. The clues were pitched just right and never frustrated them. At this age I read the trickier clues out, which worked perfectly. My son is still talking about it weeks later.

  12. Verity Reid (verified owner)

Used this on a rainy Saturday afternoon to keep the kids entertained. Armed with tin-foil helmets, the astronauts worked their way round the back yard to the final reward. 4 children took part and they were absorbed for well over an hour. At this age I read the trickier clues out, which worked perfectly. “Best party ever,” according to my son — high praise indeed.

Booked this for my daughter’s 4th birthday and it went down a storm. The kids tore round the back yard as astronauts, following the trail from one clue to the next. We had 7 kids in total and it kept them busy for a happy 50 minutes. What really stood out was the space facts tucked into the clues. A grown-up reading the clues helped the little ones along nicely. I’d have liked one or two extra stations, hence four rather than five stars, but the kids didn’t mind a bit. A brilliant bit of fun that I’d recommend without hesitation.

Super cool! The treasure hunt didn’t just excite the kids — it totally pulled us adults in, too.

A grown-up reading the clues helped the little ones along nicely. We’ll definitely be back for another theme.

Finally something different! Instead of princesses or pirates, our kids got to be real astronauts. The tasks were varied and even challenged the older ones.

  17. Carol Begum (verified owner)

This was the main activity at my little boy’s 6th space party. The kids tore round the back yard as astronauts, following the trail from one clue to the next. We had 4 kids in total and it kept them busy for around 50 minutes. Easily the best party activity we’ve done — worth every penny.

  18. Mina Roberts (verified owner)

It was nice — a bit too much reading, but the kids still had fun.

  19. Owen Naylor (verified owner)

We threw a space party for my son’s 6th and this was the centrepiece. The children became astronauts, hunting down each clue all over the living room and hallway with cardboard rockets. 6 children took part and they were absorbed for about 40 minutes. Easily the best party activity we’ve done — worth every penny.

Very cool. Our youngest (6) struggled a little, but the older ones (9 and 10) were totally fired up.
